The M4A4 Howl is a legendary skin with a unique status in CS history. It's the only skin to ever receive the exclusive "Contraband" rarity after being removed from active drops due to copyright issues with the original artwork.
This Factory New specimen features vibrant red and black artwork of a stylized wolf/dog howling. With an exceptional float value of 0.01876, this Howl shows virtually no signs of wear, with the artwork remaining sharp and vibrant across the entire weapon.
Due to its contraband status, the Howl is no longer obtainable through cases or drops, making it one of the rarest and most valuable skins in CS2. It represents both a piece of Counter-Strike history and a high-value collector's item that continues to appreciate in value.
Technical Details
The M4A4 Howl is the only skin in CS history to have been reclassified as "Contraband" rarity (indicated by its unique red color in inventories). It was originally released as part of the Huntsman Collection but was later removed due to copyright issues.
The original design was found to have been copied from artwork by a DeviantArt user without permission. Valve responded by replacing the artwork with an in-house redesign and giving the skin Contraband status, ceasing all new drops of the item.
